I think some of you wonder that. Most of you probably think because Hawai'i is synonymous with paradise. But the paradisiacal aspects are not the only reasons for my decision.
Of course, I can't deny the obvious. I like the warmth and I love the sea.💗 Without a doubt I can't imagine anything better than being at the sea and being able to live there is a dream for me.💦🌴 I still have no idea where this affinity comes from, but it's so deep inside of me that there must be a reason.
Wanderlust is nothing special. But I know no homesickness and that has always been so. Although I was only honest my mother used to reproach me: "It's everywhere better for you than at home!" Sometime I recognised that my restlessness and my dissatisfaction grew over the past 20 years. Today I know that I was looking for my happiness for years in the wrong areas of life.
In addition, our society is changing, which I don't like because I don't feel well here anymore. Rudeness, disrespect, intolerance and recklessness become more and more and I blame political developments of the last years for these changes. Every day I try to be a good role model and to handle my fellows as I want to be handled. Kindness and respect doesn't hurt but I know that I am only a drop in the ocean and I alone won't change the world.
Related to this let's return to my Hawai'i thing. As you were able to read in my first post I like the hawaiian Huna teaching and the Aloha Spirit. Have you ever wondered what you really believe in? Though I was christened, but I never could identify with the Christian religion. I believe that we have our lives in our own hands and that each of our actions has consequences, so we have to act responsibly.🙏 Very often people seem to act thoughtlessly and for that reason, I recommend taking some time to read about the Huna teachings and the Aloha Spirit. Based on centuries-old knowledge it is in my opinion today more important than ever.
The paradise Hawai'i, the 50th state of the United States, faces the same difficulties and challenges as any other American state. The same issues make life difficult there as for us in Europe. However, there are interesting news from Hawai'i lately. To improve island life, the locals try to bring change. It is remarkable because it is about sustainable and ecological land management, the protection of nature and environment, but also the preservation of their language and culture. Did you know, for example, that conventional sunscreen is prohibited to protect reefs and all types of marine life because the ingredients are harmful to the environment?🐬🐟🐳 Or did you know that there is a valid Aloha Law? That's no joke!
I think there are more people like me and therefore I would like to encourage them to have a look at these topics. Maybe you are going to find some little wisdoms that will improve your life like it happened to me, although I have not been there yet.
