Embrace the journey and find beauty in the detours

You're probably wondering why I've been so quiet the last few days and why the next blog entry is so slow. Well, sometimes life has other plans for us than what we had planned.

On Tuesday we drove to the Northshore full of energy, went to Kualoa Regional Park, got our first dose of Hawaiian sun, took some wonderful photos, drove up to Laie, but then I quickly noticed that something wasn't right. This led to us cutting our tour short and turning back. We ran a few errands along the way, but that was it. The next day we were both out of action and suffering from all the symptoms of a classic cold. In the last few days I've actually disappeared into bed at dusk, been up briefly at dawn and then crawled back into bed. Luckily our vacation apartment has all the comforts you can imagine. So not much has happened since my last blog entry. But of course I don't want to withhold from you the pictures I took on Tuesday and those from yesterday when we dared to take a short trip to the nearby He'eia State Park to avoid cabin fever. There's always something worth capturing here - no question about it! ❤

Well, anyone who knows a little about Hawaii or Oahu and the film industry knows that some very well-known films and series have been shot on this island. The Kualao Ranch with the Ko'olau Mountains are really very popular with filmmakers. Jurassic Park, 50 First Dates, Hawai'i Five O, Lost... to name just a few. We haven't been to the Kualoa Ranch this time, but it's on our list.

It's now Friday evening and we actually planned to drive to Honolulu and watch the big fireworks display that takes place every Friday in Waikiki. Well, if not today, then next week. I don't have much more to report at the moment, so I'll just add photos and videos. Hopefully there will be a lot more to report next time. 😉

Aloha 🤙🏼

P.S. If you click on the photos, they will be displayed larger.

By the way... if you didn't know.
Chickens can be found running around freely all over the island. Many of them have offspring at the moment. 🐔🐓🐤
