We're going back to Hawaii again this year!
That probably doesn't surprise you, does it? 😉
And actually, it's only a few days away.
Somehow, time has flown by this year. Extremely busy with work and personal life, we've had to book our trips more or less on the fly. I would have preferred to travel to O'ahu again in the first half of the year, but we were late, and so our preferred accommodation was already booked when we finally started planning our trip. We're going back to Kane'ohe because we loved it there so much.
This time, too, I have a few things in mind that I'd like to do and accomplish. But as always, I'm not planning them in advance. After all, our stay should be relaxing, not stressful. There’s more than enough stress in our normal everyday life.
Well, I'll be honest... I'm homesick. No, not wanderlust, but really homesick. I know this sounds dramatic, but my heart aches with longing when I think of Hawai'i. It's been like this since the first time I was on the island. Nowhere do I feel more myself and more at home than there. But it's not the tropical or paradisiacal aspect, but the people there and how they interact with each other. But also the culture and, above all, the Hawaiian attitude to life. I've described that many times before, so I won't go into it here. I think you just have to experience it for yourself.
What else is there to tell? Perhaps that this time we're flying from Frankfurt to San Francisco and from there with Hawaiian Airlines to Honolulu. I'm really curious to see if flying with this airline is really as described.
After four blissful weeks, we'll be going back to Germany. Not that I want to think about it right now. Anyway, let's see how it goes this time. I'm excited. I'm very excited. I'm so excited!
Aloha 🤙🏼🌺
