Day No. 14 on O'ahu

The oceans roar is music to the soul.

It's definitely like that, but not when the ocean is roaring like a angry lion! 😐That's how it was last night. We had big waves that hit the beach and even reached the garden. It was so loud that my honey closed the doors to the Lanai in the middle of the night. Don't get me wrong - I'm not complaining. It was just Mother Nature or maybe Kanaloa, the Hawaiian god of the sea. Unlike my honey, the sound didn't stop me from sleeping, but everyone is different. In the morning the sea calmed down again and so the sunrise and the early morning hours were beautiful again. 😊

Today we drove up north again and visited the Dole pineapple plantation.🍍 I don't like pineapples that much but to see how they grow and to find out more about the history of the plantation seemed to be interesting to us. The plantation country store is filled with all kinds of gifts and foods. But not only pineapple but also local coffee and chocolate. We decided to do the Plantation Garden Tour and the ride on the Pineapple Express Train Tour. The variety of different plants and trees there is impressive. While you can listen about the history of the pineapple and the plantation on the train, you can walk through the garden and look at the plants. Besides to annoying mosquitoes it was a nice walk around. Actually, it is more for families, but the nature fan in me was also pleased. In any case again we took some nice photos.

On the Plantation Garden Tour we were approached by a couple, who drew our attention to the fruits of the Longan tree. The ripe fruits were on the ground and they showed us how to open them and encouraged us to taste them. For me they looked like lychees and the taste was very similar too. In the plants under this tree I found beautiful looking green lizards.🦎 They didn't seemed to be very shy because when my honey held his hand to one of them it didn't flee. Instead, this sweet little thing started licking his finger for the juice of the Longan fruits he had opened earlier!😍

The Pineapple Express Train Tour was indeed very interesting  and informative. And due to a brief rain shower, the tour ended with our first rainbow since we arrived on the island.🌈 So, for that matter, the Rainbow state has not kept its promises so far.πŸ˜‰

All in all, it was a relaxing day. But my personal highlight was of course watching the newest episode of my favorite series - Hawaii Five-0.πŸ˜‰ And tomorrow we gonna meet the guys from Trident Adventures again and spend some time on and in the water with them. And I'm pretty sure that we won't forget that experience quickly. 😎

Aloha! πŸŒ΄πŸŒΊπŸ™
